A man escaped a four-person attack in Wilkes-Barre Wednesday night, and police said an investigation into the incident is ongoing.
According to Wilkes-Barre City police, officers were dispatched at 10:49 p.m. to the area of Alexander and Elizabeth Streets for a report of a man being chased by another man who had a knife.
Upon arrival, the victim told police he was “shaken up” but reported no physical injuries.
According to the victim, the incident began in the 300 block of South Main Street, police reported.
The victim said that a group of four individuals, including a man identified only as “Maurice,” arrived in a white mid-sized SUV.
The victim stated that the group then exited the vehicle and struck him about six times in the face and rib area, police said.
