GARDNER, Mass. —

Investigators were back in the woods of central Massachusetts Thursday in the search for a man suspected of fatally shooting his wife in 2023.

On Oct. 22, 2023 , Breanne Pennington, 30, was found dead inside her home on Cherry Street in Gardner. Her husband, Aaron Pennington, 33, is suspected of shooting her in the head and killing her.

Aaron Pennington fled after the shooting, and more than two years later, he is still missing.

On Thursday, law enforcement from multiple agencies across the region searched the dense woods near Camp Collier in Gardner, but the search came up empty.

The Worcester County District Attorney's office has previously vowed to "search until he is located."
