VisitPittsburgh unveiled its new welcome center at the Heinz History Center in the Strip on Thursday, complete with AI-assisted touchscreens that it says will help visitors learn more about the region.
VisitPittsburgh’s president and CEO, Jerad Bachar, said that the history center is a natural fit for the welcome center, since it is already a popular tourist destination and is actively expanding, with plans to add a 90,000-square-foot wing with new exhibits and a 150-seat theater.
“This building, this entire campus, will be at the heart of everything that’s going on in the development of Pittsburgh,” he said.
