LEXINGTON, S.C. (WIS) - Former South Carolina state Rep. RJ May is facing more charges after allegedly not paying state income taxes while in office.

The South Carolina Department of Revenue said Thursday that warrants were served on May for three counts of failing to file and pay South Carolina Individual Income Tax.

The latest charges come after May pleaded guilty to federal charges involving child sexual abuse material earlier this year. He is scheduled to be sentenced in January for that case.

Warrants obtained by WIS on Thursday allege that May, who was first elected to the State House in 2020, did not file state individual income tax returns from 2022 to 2024.
