BALTIMORE —

THE AVENUE will start getting people into the holiday spirit on Friday when it holds the 28th annual Holiday Tree Lighting and Skate with Santa .

The celebration kicks off at 6 p.m. with holiday music, followed by Santa's arrival around an hour later. He'll light the 40-foot tree before joining skaters on the ice rink.

Then, on Saturday, Dec. 6, THE AVENUE will hold its annual White Marsh Holiday Parade. The event starts at 10 a.m. and includes dignitaries, marching bands, mascots, performance groups and more to ring in the season.

Santa will also skate on the ice rink after the parade ends.
