The Tennessee Aquarium has opened its first centralized home for educational programming: the new S.T.R.E.A.M. Learning Center, supported by Unum. For the first time, the Aquarium’s camps, teacher workshops, and outreach programs now have a dedicated 4,500-square-foot facility on the Aquarium plaza.
“Being on the Plaza is something we’re very excited about,” said Natali Rodgers, the Aquarium’s director of learning and evaluation. “I think being more visible will help spread awareness of our work and impact.”
The former food court has been transformed into flexible classrooms, a STREAM-focused lab, ambassador animal habitats, and sensory rooms designed with educator input. The center also features vivid murals depicting forest, estuary, and ocean habitats to support hands-on learning.
