CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa (KCRG) - The Cedar Rapids IowaWORKS office has moved into a brand new building on Kirkwood Community College’s campus.

Most of Iowa Works services used to be located at Lindale Mall.

It oversees programs to help the recently laid off, and those re-entering the work force after a serious disability or diagnosis.

About 700 people take IowaWORKS adult education classes like high school equivalency courses or learning English as a second language.

Those people will soon go to the new space at Kirkwood for those classes.

One IowaWORKS employee says having all the programs under one roof will be great for both the staff and clients.
