MOUNT VERNON, Iowa (KCRG) - The Mount Vernon High School marching band has spent the past three weeks preparing to march in the Thanksgiving parade at Disney World.

Senior Drum Major Korah Jo Robinson said the Marching Mustangs feel like a family to her. She said she never imagined wrapping up her last season with an experience like this.

“Especially for me as a senior, just getting one last trip with my band and getting to play with my people for one more time is going to be a special experience,” Robinson said.

Band director Scott Weber applied for the trip last year, sending in photos and videos of his marching band. He said being able to perform for people from all over the world is an incredible opportunity.
