DULLES, Va. — Just 10 days after a mobile lounge crashed into a concourse dock at Dulles International Airport, sending 18 people to the hospital, another collided with an airline tug Wednesday night.
The mobile lounges, also known as “people movers,” take passengers from terminal to terminal. They've been a staple at Dulles since 1962, when the airport first opened.
An airport official told WUSA9 that Wednesday's crash happened around 5:15 p.m. on an airfield service road. Luckily, nobody was injured, and passengers on board got on a different shuttle to reach the terminal.
The airport says it’s investigating the crash.
