DECATUR, Ga. — Authorities have arrested a suspect in connection with a Halloween shooting at a Decatur gas station that left one man dead.

Cortez Florence, 22, of Snellville was taken into custody Thursday at an apartment complex off South Hairston Road, according to the DeKalb County Sheriff's Office. Florence is charged with malice murder in the death of 27-year-old Quintin Lamar Lewis Jr. of Decatur.

The shooting occurred Oct. 31 at approximately 9:24 p.m. at a Shell gas station at 5005 Snapfinger Woods Drive. Florence allegedly shot Lewis following a verbal altercation at the location, deputies said.
