WACO, Texas — A Brownsville man was arrested Thursday in Waco for alleged drug possession with intent to distribute a mixture or substance containing fentanyl.
According to court documents, Jaime Vanegas, 28, was pulled over in a traffic stop by a Texas Department of Public Safety (TxDPS) trooper on Nov. 11. During the stop, a K9 officer smelled the presence of narcotics inside the car. The trooper allegedly located, upon further investigation, a hidden door under the center console of the vehicle and found 10 plastic-wrapped brick-shaped packages containing a white powdery substance.
