PROVIDENCE - U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents moved Nov. 20 to "wrongfully" take a Superior Court intern into custody at the Licht Judicial Complex.
The judiciary announced that ICE agents outside the courthouse detained a high school student who is interning for a judge.
“If not for the intervention of a Superior Court judge, who insisted that ICE had wrongfully identified his intern as their target, this young person would have been taken into ICE custody,” the judiciary said.
