The area round of the high school football playoffs is underway in the Texas Panhandle.
After a number of teams from around Amarillo won their first-round matchup to claim a bi-district championship trophy, the second round offers a new challenge. As schools go deeper into the postseason, travel distances increase and opponents become more formidable, that will begin to take effect this week for teams from the region.
