As Quinte West’s newest councillor, Leslie Roseblade says she’s ready to serve – and she’s even looking forward to spending long days working on the city’s budget.
Council voted Nov. 19 to appoint the former two-term councillor to fill the Ward 1 council seat left by the late Sally Freeman , 79, who died Oct. 22.

“I am very happy with the way that council voted, and I feel very privileged to be able to represent the community, and I’ll do the best I can do,” Roseblade said Thursday in a telephone interview.
The retired Quinte West residents said “it is an honour” to succeed Freeman; the two had served together on past councils.
