Driver crashes into parked cars, house in Fort Wayne neighborhood

The driver of a pickup truck traveling on North Clinton Street died after crashing into a house, Fort Wayne police said Thursday.

The incident occurred just before 10:15 p.m. Wednesday, according to a news release. The driver crashed into a house in the 5700 block of Roaring Fork Run.

A police officer observed a pickup truck traveling on North Clinton Street at a high rate of speed Wednesday evening, the news release said. The officer pursued the truck as the driver turned onto St. Joe Center Road. The pickup driver entered the Papermill Bluffs neighborhood and continued driving at a high rate of speed.

The driver left the roadway, striking two parked vehicles before crashing into the house, the news release said.
