HARTFORD, Conn. (WFSB) - With turkey prices higher this year, major retailers are trying to lure customers with Thanksgiving meal deals promising to feed families for as little as $20. But do these deals live up to their promises?

Some retailers say $40 will feed 10 people, while others promise $20 will feed four. With everything costing more this year, shoppers are looking for ways to save on their holiday meals.

“They’re a little bit higher, but, you know, everything is higher,” said Sharon Zajack of Cromwell about turkey prices this year.

A shopping test of three major retailers revealed mixed results on their advertised prices.

At Target, the retailer promised to feed four people for $20. The turkey and sides totaled $22.50 after taxes — slightly over the advertised price.
