HAMILTON COUNTY, Ind. — A deep breath, as simple as it sounds, goes a long way to settle how you feel.
It's a tool Leah Mitchell uses every day.
"I think it's great because it wakes up these parts of your brain and in your body and gets you back into spirituality," Mitchell said.
For eight weeks, ten women at the Hamilton County Jail, including Mitchell, participated in Ignite Transform .
The program gives women tools to use on their road to recovery from substance abuse.
"Getting ourselves grounded back to a stable mind, body and spirit foundation before we reenter back to society," Mitchell said of the program. "No matter how many times I've tripped up, I'm not a lost cause. There are people out there to help us. They also provide resources, support."
