White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt has defended U.S. President Donald Trump calling a reporter “piggy.”
In her press briefing Thursday, Leavitt was asked for clarification on what Trump meant when he called Bloomberg reporter Catherine Lucey the name upon being pressured about the Jeffrey Epstein files.
The interaction happened Nov. 14 aboard Air Force One. Trump told Lucey that he had a “very bad relationship” with Epstein. Lucey followed up with another question about the files, at which point the President snapped.
“Quiet. Quiet, piggy,” Trump said while repeatedly pointing at the reporter, before moving on to answer another question from another reporter, per The Independent .
On Thursday, Leavitt chalked it all up to the President’s supposed candid nature.
