Honolulu firefighters are battling a brush fire near the H-1 freeway near Kunia, which has resulted in some off- and on-ramp closures in the area.
The Honolulu Fire Department responded to the fire at the H-1 freeway’s eastbound “exit 5,” near Kunia Road, at about 11 a.m. Multiple units responded, and as of 12:20 p.m., HFD reported the fire to be under control.
At about 11 a.m., transportation officials said the Kunia off- and Ewa off-ramps from H-1 westbound were closed due to the brushfire.
The Kunia on-ramp to H-1 westbound is also closed.
Motorists are advised to drive with caution through the area.
