Sunday's NFC East clash between the Philadelphia Eagles and Dallas Cowboys at AT&T Stadium will feature some of the top talent in the conference and league as a whole, especially at wide receiver. These teams boast two of the best tandems at the position in the NFL: Dallas' George Pickens and CeeDee Lamb and Philadelphia's A.J. Brown and DeVonta Smith.
One of those wide receivers isn't paying attention to what the others are doing, though.
Brown was asked today ahead of Sunday's game if he watches what Lamb and other top wide receivers are doing around the league. Considering he's often mentioned in the same tier as Lamb among the top players at the position in the league, it wasn't completely unprompted.
"No," Brown said while shaking his head. When asked why not, he responded, "It gets me upset, so I stay away from it. But I mean, there's a time and place for it. I think right now I'm just trying to stay focused."
Brown hasn't been shy about his feelings on the Eagles' 2025 season. The defending champions are 8-2 entering Week 12, hold the top spot in the NFC playoff picture and have the division title firmly in their grasp.
But Brown recently said "It's a (expletive)-show" when asked on a Twitch livestream about how he's doing. He later recommended fantasy football managers drop him from their teams and said, "Let's show No. 11 some love, see how that goes" when playing Madden as the Eagles on the livestream.
The three-time second-team All-Pro wide receiver is on pace for his worst season since his rookie year. He's posting career-lows in yards per game (50.8), catch percentage (58.5%) and yards per reception (12.0). He could see his streak of 1,000-yard seasons end in 2025. If healthy, that'd be the first time he missed the mark and played at least 16 games.
He's been inconsistent week to week this year. Nearly half of his 457 receiving yards and all of his three touchdowns came in two games: Week 3 against the Rams (six catches, 109 yards, one touchdown) and Week 7 against the Vikings (four catches, 121 yards, two touchdowns).
His teammate DeVonta Smith has outpaced him in receiving yards (665 to Brown's 457), and tight end Dallas Goedert leads the team in receiving touchdowns (seven to three).
In the final question he answered today, Brown was asked what he'd say to speculation that he's not the same player he once was.
"I guess Saquon [Barkley] isn't the same player either, then," Brown said before shaking his head and adding he doesn't care about that.
