WILLIAMSBURG, Va. — U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) is cracking down on undocumented citizens here in Hampton Roads and across the country.
As a result, two immigrants who wished to stay anonymous for safety reasons told 13News Now that people in their community are scared to leave the house.
“I send my daughter to buy the groceries because I fear to go to Walmart or any store,” one woman said.
Constant fear is a reality for two immigrant women.
“It’s really scary coming out and thinking you might not come back and see your kids,” another woman said
Both women told 13News Now that it’s due to the growing number of ICE arrests happening across the country.
