BILOXI, Miss. (WLOX) - Enthusiasm about academics isn’t something you would hear from the average high schooler, but Nora Mestayer is far from the average student.

The St. Patrick senior is a key member of the Fighting Irish soccer team who are coming off their third consecutive state title but for Mestayer, being a scholar athlete involves a drive to succeed both on the pitch and in the class room.

“It makes me think about having drive and enthusiasm for academics as well as athletics,” Mestayer said. “Putting effort and time equally into both of those.”

That effort is something the senior puts in everyday as she maintains a perfect 4.2 GPA.
