CHARLOTTE, N.C. (WBTV) - Charlotte-Mecklenburg police arrested a man on Thursday for his alleged involvement in killing a Monroe High School student back in May in north Charlotte.
Police said on Thursday, Nov. 20, they charged 20-year-old Tracoby Meeks for his alleged involvement in the killing of 17-year-old Navaeh Carter .
“It’s been the hardest 5 1/2 months that I’ve had to deal with this,” said Jamie Cureton, Carter’s mother. “Even though an arrest has been made, it still doesn’t bring my daughter back.”
Charlotte-Mecklenburg police said on Saturday, May 31, around 2 a.m., officers responded to the intersection of N. Graham Street and W. Craighead Road.
Officials said that Carter was in her vehicle when she was hit by gunfire and died.
