LAREDO, Tex. (KGNS) - Multiple law enforcement agencies conducted an operation in southwest Lare do Nov. 20 that resulted in at least two people being taken into Border Patrol custody and prompted three schools to enter secure mode.

The incident occurred near Olive and Sanders Street, where Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) and Border Patrol agents were seen questioning residents and searching homes in the neighborhood.

A helicopter was spotted hovering above and scouting the area during the operation. Video showed two people being placed into a Border Patrol van and taken away.

A neighborhood resident who witnessed the incident expressed concerns about the operation’s impact on the community.
