San Bernardino County is under a flash flood warning which was released by the National Weather Service on Thursday at 6:35 p.m. The warning is in effect until 8:30 p.m.

“At 6:35 p.m., Doppler radar indicated heavy rain across the warned area. The expected rainfall rate is 0.75 to 1 inch in 1 hour. Flash flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly,” the NWS San Diego CA said. “Life threatening flash flooding of creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses.”

The warning is for Apple Valley, northern Lucerne Valley and Hwy 247 Between Lucerne Valley And Barstow. Portions of Interstate 15 may be impacted north of Hesperia.

The NWS said, “Turn around, don’t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles.”
