Meg Lanning has revealed how a desire to dominate sparked the latest evolution of her batting, revitalising the great’s game and making for a more dangerous player 17 years into a sparkling career.

Lanning produced the most complete innings in WBBL history on Thursday night, with her 135 leading Melbourne Stars to a rain-affected 111-run thumping of the Sydney Sixers.

Some four games into this summer’s WBBL, Lanning leads the competition’s run-scoring charts, averages and strike rate after scores of 60, 90 not out, 3 and 135.

Some two years since Lanning’s shock retirement from international cricket, Australia’s former captain detailed how she has made a conscious effort to still take her game forward.
