U.S. Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. on Thursday railed against what he called an "epidemic" of chronic disease.

"My job as HHS secretary is to partner with the governors to make our children healthy again and to make our country healthy again," Kennedy said Wednesday at the 2025 winter meeting of the Western Governors' Association in Scottsdale, Ariz.

Though Gov. Michelle Lujan Grisham was included on the official list of attendees , she was not present during Kennedy's remarks. Her office confirmed she planned to join the other Western governors Thursday night.
