EAST LANSING, Mich. (WILX) - Michigan State women’s soccer is moving on after a 1-0 victory over Wake Forest in the NCAA Tournament.
Despite it being only a one-goal victory, the Spartans controlled the ball for a majority of the match. In the 68th minute, MSU’s Shelby Vaughn hit Kayla Briggs for the only goal of the game. Briggs’ eighth goal of the season was the winner to help the Spartans advance to their third straight Sweet 16 matchup.
Michigan State next hosts Colorado in the Sweet 16 on Sunday at 1 p.m. ET.
