BELTON, Texas — The University of Mary Hardin-Baylor Crusader football team took home a share of the American Southwest Conference Championship this season, and though the Cru did not clinch a playoff spot , the team's victories didn't end at their final game.
UMHB has announced that 19 players from the team have been named to All-American Southwest Conference teams. One member of the Cru even earned not one, but two Player of the Year titles.
According to UMHB, BJ Stewart, a senior from Shreveport, has been named both the ASC Offensive Player of the Year and the Tri-Special Teams Player of the Year. UMHB said Stewart led the conference with 62 receptions for a total of 776 yards on the season, scoring a conference-high 11 touchdowns and averaging 12.5 yards per catch and 86.2 yards pe
