MADISON, Wis. (WXOW) – The Division 4 WIAA State Football Championship was an exciting nailbiter, as the Little Chute Mustangs took on the Winneconne Wolves in a repeat of their matchup all the way back in the first week of the season.
Little Chute kicked off the game with some powerful runs, capping them off with a 24-yard touchdown run by standout Reece Joten. Winneconne answered right back by marching down the field and scoring on a 4th-and-goal.
It didn't take too long for the Mustangs to respond as the Wolves defense bit on a fake to Joten and Tyler Hietpas took a pitch 63 yards for the touchdown. Little Chute continued to show off their big-play ability by stripping the football from the threatening Winneconne offense just before the end of the first quarter.
