BOISE, Idaho — Idaho Fish and Game officers are asking the public for information about a bull elk that was shot and left to waste in Adams County in October.

The Idaho Department of Fish and Game said Thursday, the animal was found about 200 yards east of Four Bit Creek Road, just north of Mill Creek Summit. Officials said nothing was taken from the elk.

Fish and game officers believe the elk was shot sometime between Oct. 18 and Oct. 31.

"Based on what we found at the scene, this doesn't look like a case where a hunter wounded the elk and couldn't find it," said Conservation Officer Chris Rowley in a news release. "The elk was killed in a spot that's easy to see from the road, and there's a lot of hunter traffic through there during the season. We think someone might have seen somet
