Southern Lehigh High School senior wide receiver/cornerback Darius Roman was able to crack the Spartans’ starting lineup in his freshman season, whether he believed it or not.

“His confidence has gone up a lot over these past four years,” Southern Lehigh coach Phil Sams said of Roman. “His freshman year, we told him he had to start both ways against Pottsville and he was kind of shocked. Now, we’re here three years later and we can put him anywhere, receiver, one of the linebacker positions. He does a great job with it.”

Roman worked hard and has been determined to improve since he got the chance to play in his first year on the varsity team.
