SAN FRANCISCO (KRON) -- A longtime San Francisco resident was in shock at the sight of his car totaled and surrounded by police crime tape. He said his car was stolen earlier this week from his garage in the city's Pacific Heights neighborhood.

The car owner wants to remain anonymous but tells KRON4 that he got a call from San Francisco police saying they found his car — but it was involved in a crash. So, he rushed to the scene.

The San Francisco Police Department said officers responded Thursday at 3:34 p.m. in the area of Fell and Divisadero streets regarding a reported occupied stolen vehicle.

SFPD gathered information from tips that the stolen vehicle was occupied by two people.
