WHEELING — Finances in the city of Wheeling remained strong through the first quarter of the current fiscal year, officials announced this week.

Members of the Finance Committee of Wheeling City Council met to review the city’s October financial report, which not only shows revenues and expenditures for the month but also brings into focus solid numbers for the first four months of the 2025-26 fiscal year that began on July 1.

“The revenues for the month of October were very strong at $5,483,000,” Wheeling City Manager Robert Herron reported. “Expenses were $4,377,000, and we did have three pay periods during the month of October.”
