With roughly 1.5 million New Yorkers relying on Low-Income Home Energy Assistance Program funding, State Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand, D-N.Y., is urging President Donald Trump and the administration to make the money available.

“Now, the Trump administration is dragging its feet on releasing $4 billion, that has already been approved, to help families heat their homes,” she told the media during a virtual call Thursday. “This is delaying New York’s ability to open applications and begin distributing the funds — quite literally leaving New Yorkers out in the cold.”
