Kolkata and several parts of Northeast India experienced strong tremors on Friday morning following a 5.7-magnitude earthquake in Bangladesh. The quake struck at around 10:08 am IST, with its epicentre recorded at latitude 23.77°N and longitude 90.51°E, at a depth of 10 km, according to preliminary seismic data. However, there have been no immediate reports of casualties or significant property damage.

Soon after the earthquake hit, netizens quickly flocked to social media and shared videos capturing the tremors in real time. One video showed a chandelier swaying violently, while another captured wall hangings and water bottles rattling.
