Bhubaneswar: The night temperature shot up across Odisha in last 24 hours amid the likelihood of a fresh low-pressure area over the Bay of Bengal which may trigger rain in the state next week.

According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), a cyclonic circulation has developed over the central parts of the Malacca Strait in the southeast Bay of Bengal. Under its influence, a low-pressure area is likely to form on Saturday, said Director of Bhubaneswar Meteorological Centre Manorama Mohanty
