Josh Allen and Buffalo Bills fans had the same question on Thursday night.

Buffalo was stuffed on fourth-and-1 in the fourth quarter of the Bills’ 23–19 loss to the Houston Texans on Thursday Night Football, and Allen’s frustration was visible.
Instead of letting Allen plow ahead for a yard, offensive coordinator Joe Brady called a slow-developing handoff to James Cook, who was tackled for a 2-yard loss by defensive tackle Sheldon Rankins.
Cook had ripped off a 20-yard run earlier in the drive, but was given five straight carries to end the possession, even seemingly requesting a breather before the fourth-down snap.
