Victor Harbor is currently hosting thousands of school leavers celebrating the end of their secondary education at the annual schoolies festival.
The event, a traditional rite of passage for South Australian graduates, has drawn approximately 4000 attendees this year.
Celebrations commenced early, with many arriving via free buses from Adelaide.
Authorities have implemented increased security measures, including expanded police powers within a designated event precinct, aimed at ensuring the safety of participants.
These powers allow officers to conduct searches for weapons using metal detectors.
