New Delhi ~ Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday left for Johannesburg to attend the first G20 Summit in Africa, even as the Congress took a swipe saying he is travelling “safely and securely” since US President Donald Trump is boycotting the meet.
During his stay, Modi will also join leaders at the sixth IBSA Summit on the sidelines of the G20. He is expected to speak in all major sessions and hold bilateral meetings with several heads of state.
The summit, under South Africa’s presidency, focuses on the themes of solidarity, equality and sustainability. Calling it a “particularly special summit,” the PM, in his departure statement, said that he will present India’s vision of “Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam” and “One Earth, One Family, One Future”.
