An electric car caught fire in the middle of the road on National Highway-16 under Balugaon Police limits on Friday morning. According to reports, the incident occurred at around 12:36 pm, when a major fire erupted suddenly and completely gutted the vehicle. The car was reportedly travelling from Berhampur towards Bhubaneswar when the driver noticed fumes of smoke emitting from the vehicle. He immediately pulled the car to the side of the road. He quickly stepped out, narrowly escaping danger. Moments later, the vehicle was completely gutted in flames, emitting thick smoke.
