Once again specialist officers from the Civil Nuclear Constabulary (CNC) Strategic Escort Group (SEG) have been praised after completing a major international operational deployment, ensuring the secure transit of nuclear material to from France to Japan.

The officers were deployed throughout the voyage on board the Pacific Heron and Pacific Egret. They were met in Japan by Chief Constable Simon Chesterman, who was hosted by Nuclear Transport Solutions (NTS) and the Japanese at the unloading of the nuclear material, he was able to personally thank the SEG officers for their outstanding professionalism whilst deployed in a protracted and complex operation at sea.

The two vessels arrived safely in Japan, completing the delivery of 32 Mixed Oxide (MOX) fuel assemblies to the Takahama Nuclea
