SAN FRANCISCO -- Congressman Eric Swalwell announced Thursday night he is running to become California's next governor.
Swalwell announced his candidacy though his website , revealing his candidacy complete with a minute-long campaign video.
The East Bay rep. also appeared on "Jimmy Kimmel Live!" Thursday night.
"Our state, this great state needs a fighter and protector. Someone who will bring prices down, lift wages up. And we can say that we're the fourth largest economy in the world I love to brag about that, but what does that mean if you can't afford to live here," he said.
