A probe has been launched after boy who went missing from a school in Fife was found alone in a nearby park.
It's understood the pupil left Pittencrieff Primary School on Maitland Street in Dunfermline at around 12.30 on Wednesday, November 19.
Once staff noticed he was missing, the local authority said the boy was found within five minutes at Pittencrieff Park.
A spokesperson for Fife Council said his family and the wider school community were "quickly informed".
Karen Lees, Fife Council's education manager, said: "On Wednesday, a school child briefly left the school grounds and was located a short time later in Pittencrieff Park.
"Staff acted immediately upon noticing the child was missing, and the child was found safe and well within five minutes.
