The Enfield Police Department is investigating after a pedestrian was struck and killed by a car Thursday night.

According to police, a pedestrian was walking in the area of Route 19 (Hazard Ave.) and Glen Arden Lane just before 9 p.m. Thursday when they were struck by a Toyota Camry. The vehicle stayed on the scene. Police say the operator of the car is cooperating with law enforcement.

The pedestrian was transported to Johnson Memorial Hospital where they were pronounced deceased.

The crash remains under investigation by the Enfield Police Department Traffic Division with assistance from the Metro Traffic Regional Reconstruction Team.
