A Brookline man is being held in federal custody following his arrest Wednesday on a charge of possessing explicit images of children, prosecutors said.
Investigators identified Ariel Torres, 37, as a user of an online network used for disseminating child sexual abuse images, according to federal prosecutors.
Authorities searched his home in May and seized electronic devices that contained nearly 90 images and videos depicting abuse of children, according to the office of U.S. Attorney Leah Foley.
Torres faces a single count of possession of child sexual abuse images, also known as child pornography. He appeared in federal court Wednesday and was detained pending a hearing scheduled for Nov. 25.
