The rollout of the much-awaited all-in-one affordable insurance product, Bima Vistaar, has been delayed by several months, even two years after it was proposed by the Insurance Regulatory and Development Authority of India (IRDAI).
An all-in-one insurance plan, Bima Vistaar, is one of the key components of the ambitious project of the IRDAI, popularly labelled as the Bima Trinity, comprising Bima Sugam, Bima Vahak, and Bima Vistaar. While Sugam is an online digital platform, Bima Vahak is a bottom-of-the-pyramid distribution channel mainly employing rural women to sell Vistaar.
