• Last night’s vote tabling landing fees at Vance Brand Airport solidifies the fact that the special interests of Longmont’s Airport Advisory Board, airport manager and ward representative prevail over the interest of the residents in Longmont who will continue to fund a financially failing enterprise. And until Longmont City Council parts ways with their special interest attorney, nothing will change, and Longmont citizens will continue to bankroll the special interest machine/failing airport enterprise that benefits the few but burdens the many.
• Hmm, just after the election, the City Council flip flops on the landing fee ordinance. What’s next? A flip flop on the Distel Tull open space property or approving the canceling of the Kanemoto conservation easement? Very sad.
