Householders 65 years old and upwards are being urged to make an adjustment to their heating this winter amid days of weather warnings and freezing temperatures. The MET Office has urged people to prepare for wintery weather to stay warm and help fend off seasonal illnesses. ‌

This week Scotland was in the grip of several warnings and forecasts of temperatures as low as -12C . It's caused school closures and delays on the roads and railways and has forced home owners to turn on the heating if they hadn't already. ‌
