Western Washington will dry out on Friday and Saturday before the showers return.

The wet weather tapered off Thursday morning, with the sun granting residents a brief reprieve from dreary November showers. There’s still a slight chance of rain on Friday and Saturday afternoons, before the downpour begins in earnest Saturday evening.

Clear skies and light winds may cause fog Friday morning, especially for the southern Puget Sound area. The highs should remain in the low to mid-50s while lows are expected to be in the upper 40s on Friday and Saturday. With dry conditions expected south of Everett, an afternoon walk may be in order.

A stronger system will move in on Sunday with a cold front and more substantial rain, potentially bringing between a quarter- and a half-inch of precipitation
